Bob Burris

1956 · Round 6 · Pick 68 · B · Green Bay Packers

Bob Burris was a back at Oklahoma, and Green Bay drafted him in the sixth round, 68th overall, in 1956. He was one of the six football-playing Burris brothers of Muskogee, alongside Kurt and Buddy. He played on Muskogee's 1950 state title team, often rated the best Oklahoma high school team of the post-war era. Note: there is no Wikipedia article on him. My earlier automatic match pointed to his brother Buddy, and I've dropped it. Pro Football Reference has no player page for him. SoonerStats lists him on OU's roster for 1953 SO FB, 1954 JR FB, 1955 SR RH. His listed size in 1955 was 6-0, 183 lb. SoonerStats gives his full name as Robert R Burris. It gives his hometown as Muskogee, OK and his high school as Central. It lists his death as December 20, 2019. It lists OU relatives: Kurt (brother), Lyle (brother), Lynn (brother), Paul (brother).
