Brian Asamoah

2022 · Round 3 · Pick 66 · LB · Minnesota Vikings

Brian Asamoah II was born in Newark, New Jersey, to a Ghanaian family and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. At St. Francis DeSales High School he played linebacker and running back. After redshirting at Oklahoma in 2018, he led the Sooners with 66 tackles in 2020 and had 90 tackles and two forced fumbles in 2021, when he was second-team All-Big 12. Minnesota drafted him in the third round, 66th overall, in 2022, and he made 30 tackles in three seasons there. Since 2025 he has been with Tennessee, Las Vegas, Cincinnati (where a knee injury ended his season) and Atlanta, which signed him to its practice squad on September 30, 2026. Tidbit: he changed jersey numbers three times in Minnesota, from 33 to 2 to 6. The Oklahoman (Web Edition) wrote on April 28, 2022: "Asamoah, a native of Columbus, Ohio, was a consistent starter on the Sooners' defense the past two seasons."
