Dan Cody

2005 · Round 2 · Pick 53 · DE · Baltimore Ravens

Dan Cody was born in Ada, Oklahoma. He was named his high school team's MVP all four years, at Coalgate High School as a freshman and sophomore and at Ada High School as a junior and senior. At Oklahoma he played in 42 games, made 117 tackles and 25 sacks, was first-team All-Big 12 in 2003 and 2004, and was a first-team All-American in 2004. He was also on the 2000 national title team. Baltimore drafted him in the second round, 53rd overall, in 2005, but a knee injury on the first day of training camp ended his rookie season. He made his NFL debut on November 19, 2006, spent 2007 on the physically-unable-to-perform list, and was released in August 2008. Note: injuries limited his NFL career, so this bio is short. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. An article in the Daily Ardmor... (title truncated) wrote on November 30, 2003: "Cody, a native of nearby Ada, was one of just three freshmen to play on the Sooners' undefeated, national title team in 2000."
