Danny Bradley

1985 · Round 7 · Pick 189 · RB · Los Angeles Rams

Danny Bradley was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and played at Pine Bluff High School. He was Oklahoma's quarterback from 1981 to 1984 and was the Big Eight Offensive Player of the Year in 1984. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him in the seventh round, 189th overall, in 1985, as a running back, and he played three games for Detroit in 1987. At 32 he became the first African-American front-office executive for the Dallas Cowboys. He earned an OU political science degree in 1988. His son, Mark Bradley, also played at OU and in the NFL, and the two co-wrote a book called 1nsepara6le. Note: public sources on him are thin, so this bio is short. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Oklahoman wrote on March 28, 1982: "Danny Bradley, a freshman who rushed four times for 10 yards and did not attempt a pass, is listed as Phelps' backup." The Oklahoman wrote on April 24, 1983: "Danny Bradley, long advertised as Oklahoma's quarterback of the future, looked Saturday very much like the Sooners' quarterback of the here and now."
