Dusty Dvoracek

2006 · Round 3 · Pick 73 · DT · Chicago Bears

Dusty Dvoracek is from Lake Dallas, Texas, and played on both lines at Lake Dallas High School. At Oklahoma he started 28 of 49 games and finished with 136 tackles, 44 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. He was consensus All-Big 12 in 2003 and 2005 and a third-team All-American in 2003. He was suspended in 2004 after an alleged assault that hospitalized a high school friend. Chicago drafted him in the third round, 73rd overall, in 2006, but injuries limited his time with the Bears (2006–2009): a foot injury, a torn ACL in his first start, and later elbow and knee problems. He also played for the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks. Since retiring he has been a TV and radio analyst for Fox Sports Southwest, ESPN and others. Tidbit: at OU he started ahead of future WWE champion Jack Swagger. The Oklahoman wrote on September 17, 2004: "He and Dvoracek attended Lake Dallas (Texas) High School together; Wilde played wide receiver and safety."
