Frank Alexander
2012 · Round 4 · Pick 103 · DE · Carolina Panthers
Frank Alexander was born in Zachary, Louisiana, and attended Southern University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge. At Oklahoma he was a second-team All-American and first-team All-Big 12 defensive end in 2011. Carolina drafted him in the fourth round, 103rd overall, in 2012, and he played for the Panthers through 2015. His career was derailed by repeated suspensions under the NFL's substance-abuse policy (four games, then 10 more games, then a full year) and by a torn Achilles in the 2015 preseason. He later signed with the CFL's BC Lions and the XFL's Dallas Renegades but didn't play for either. His NFL totals are 34 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He is retired. Note: the available sourced information is limited, so this bio is short. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Oklahoman wrote on April 10, 2015: "Then Alexander's parents faced health issues that came in rapid-fire succession."
