Jeremy Beal

2011 · Round 7 · Pick 247 · DE · Denver Broncos

Jeremy Beal is from Carrollton, Texas, and was an all-state linebacker at Creekview High School, with 127 tackles as a senior. At Oklahoma he moved to defensive end. He led the team with 8.5 sacks in 2008 as a first-team All-Big 12 pick, had 11 sacks in 2009 (third-team All-American), and in 2010 was a second-team All-American and the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year. Although he was considered one of the draft's top defensive end prospects, he fell to the seventh round, where Denver took him 247th overall in 2011. The Broncos waived him in 2013, and his 2014 stint with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders lasted two days. Note: Wikipedia lists no NFL regular-season statistics for him. Pro Football Reference (PFR) lists him: born December 2, 1987 in USA; 6-2, 262 lb; position DL. PFR stat line: Combine 2011: DE, 74 in, 262 lb, 40yd 5.14, bench 22. PFR shows no Pro Bowl or All-Pro honors. Oklahoma City Examiner wrote on December 1, 2010: "The Oklahoma Sooners Jeremy Beal won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors on Tuesday."
