Keith Jackson
1988 · Round 1 · Pick 13 · TE · Philadelphia Eagles
Keith Jackson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was all-state at tight end and safety at Parkview High School and a 1983 Parade All-American. At Oklahoma (1984–1987), where he was nicknamed "Boomer Sooner," the team went 42–5–1. He caught 62 passes for 1,407 yards, 23.7 yards per catch, and was an All-American three times. His 71-yard touchdown catch from Jamelle Holieway sparked the 1986 Orange Bowl win over Penn State that clinched the 1985 national title. He later admitted taking illegal payments while at OU. Philadelphia drafted him in the first round, 13th overall, in 1988. He was NFC Rookie of the Year with 81 catches. He played for the Eagles, Miami and Green Bay, made five Pro Bowls, and won Super Bowl XXXI with the Packers. In 1992 he won free agency by suing over the "Plan B" system. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and voted OU's Offensive Player of the Century. The Oklahoman wrote on August 23, 1987: "Keith Jackson last year became OU's first consensus All-America tight end and the Sooners' first consensus All-America player on offense since guard Terry Crouch in 1981."
