Kelly Gregg
1999 · Round 6 · Pick 173 · DT · Cincinnati Bengals
Kelly Gregg was born in Wichita, Kansas, and starred at Edmond North High School in Oklahoma, where he won three state heavyweight wrestling titles (1993–1995) and was twice all-state in football. At Oklahoma he was first-team All-Big 12 in 1997 and 1998, despite losing records both years, and led the team in tackles each season. His 24 tackles for loss in 1998 are still a school record. Cincinnati drafted him in the sixth round, 173rd overall, in 1999. He bounced to Philadelphia and then to Baltimore's practice squad during the Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV season. He became a mainstay at nose tackle through 2010 and finished with Kansas City in 2011, totaling 551 tackles and 20.5 sacks. He now works in Oklahoma City sports radio. Tidbit: Tony Siragusa nicknamed him "Buddy Lee" the day they met. The Oklahoman wrote on October 18, 2009: "Gregg was three-time heavyweight state champion at Edmond North High School and a two-time national champ." A November 4, 1994 Oklahoman editor's note says he was named to The Oklahoman's 1993 All-State team as a junior "after helping lead Edmond Memorial to a Class 6A runner-up finish."
