Kyle Davis
1975 · Round 5 · Pick 113 · C · Dallas Cowboys
Kyle Davis was born in Cordell, Oklahoma, and played at Altus High School. He backed up All-American center Tom Brahaney at Oklahoma, then started on the 1974 national title team, earning third-team All-American and second-team All-Big Eight honors. Dallas drafted him in the fifth round, 113th overall, in 1975. Tidbit: in the 1975 divisional playoff at Minnesota, he took over at center late in the game after John Fitzgerald hurt his elbow. He was snapping when Roger Staubach threw the original "Hail Mary" pass to Drew Pearson. A knee injury cost him 1976, and he later played for San Francisco in 1978, finishing with 21 NFL games. Pro Football Reference has a player page for him (linked below), but its stats weren't pulled for this bio. The Daily Oklahoman wrote on October 22, 1974 (NewsBank page 17): "Returning starters were tight end Wayne Hoffman, tackle Jerry Arnold, guards Rousch and Terry Webb and center Kyle Davis."
