Tyler Guyton

2024 · Round 1 · Pick 29 · OT · Dallas Cowboys

Tyler Guyton grew up in Manor, Texas, where he played mostly defensive line at Manor High School and also played basketball. He signed with TCU as a three-star recruit. In 2021, playing some H-back for the Horned Frogs, he caught a touchdown pass against Iowa State. He transferred to Oklahoma in January 2022 and started five of 10 games that year, splitting time between left and right tackle. In 2023 he started nine games at right tackle, protecting the blind side of left-handed quarterback Dillon Gabriel, and allowed no sacks in 663 snaps. Dallas drafted him in the first round, 29th overall, in 2024, as the planned successor to Tyron Smith. He became the Cowboys' starter at left tackle as a rookie but battled injuries, and his infobox lists 24 starts in 28 games. He remains active with Dallas. The Oklahoman wrote on April 25, 2024: "Tyler was a dual-sport athlete already, playing basketball at Manor High School in Texas and dabbling in baseball, before taking his father's advice and joining the football team for his senior year. In his first game, he lined up on the defensive line and finished with seven sacks."
