Las Vegas native living the dream on his hometown Raiders

Jonah Laulu grew up in Las Vegas and attended Centennial High School.

He began his college career at Hawaii (2018–2021). In 2021 he had 34 tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks for the Rainbow Warriors before transferring to Oklahoma. In his first Sooner season in 2022 he recorded 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and an interception. He switched to defensive tackle for 2023, making three starts in his final college season.

The Indianapolis Colts selected Laulu in the seventh round (234th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft. The Colts waived him at the end of the 2024 preseason, and the very next day, August 28, 2024, the Las Vegas Raiders claimed him off waivers, bringing him right back to his hometown.

He has grown into a productive defensive lineman, recording 86 tackles and five sacks through the 2025 season. As of October 8, 2026, Laulu is an active defensive tackle for the Raiders, playing professional football in the same city where he grew up, a full-circle journey that Sooner fans can appreciate.
