Bob Seymour

Halfback · 1 selection · deceased · OU 1937-1939

An all-star back for the 1942 NFL champion Redskins

Bob Seymour, from Commerce, Oklahoma, played for the Sooners from 1937 to 1939 and was a first-team All-Big Six pick in 1939. Washington drafted him in the 10th round in 1940, and he played for the Redskins through 1945, with a final season for the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference in 1946.

In 1942 Washington won the NFL championship, and Seymour was selected for the NFL All-Star Game played in December 1942, along with Redskins teammate and fellow Sooner Marvin Whited. That game was part of the NFL's early all-star series from 1938 to 1942, before the modern Pro Bowl began after the 1950 season. Pro-Football-Reference counts it as a Pro Bowl, and OU's Pro Bowl page lists it too.

This is an early-era selection, and sources are thin.
