Six straight Pro Bowls as the anchor of the Buccaneers' defensive line

Gerald McCoy's first two NFL seasons both ended early with arm injuries. In 2012, his first full, healthy season, he helped Tampa Bay field the league's top-ranked run defense and earned his first Pro Bowl berth. "I just wanted to play a full season," he said at the time.

That started a run of six straight selections, 2012 through 2017, all with the Buccaneers. In 2013 he tied a franchise single-game record for sacks by a defensive tackle with three against Atlanta, went back to the Pro Bowl and was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press. In 2014 a knee injury put him on injured reserve in December, but he was still picked for a third straight year. Hand and shoulder problems in 2015 didn't stop a fourth selection, and he added a fifth in 2016, along with second-team All-Pro, and a sixth in 2017.

His six Pro Bowls tie him with Troy Aikman, Lane Johnson, Tommy McDonald and Lee Roy Selmon for third-most among former Sooners, behind Trent Williams and Adrian Peterson.
