The rare Bedlam transfer now fighting for his spot with the Giants

Trace Ford was born in Oklahoma City and starred at Edmond Santa Fe High School, where he was a four-star prospect and a consensus top-10 player in the state who also played baseball and basketball.

He began his college career at Oklahoma State (2019–2022). As a true freshman in 2019 he played all 13 games with six starts, recording 29 tackles, three sacks and an interception. In 2020 he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors from the league's coaches with 22 tackles and 4.5 sacks, though injuries later cost him all of 2021 and part of 2022. Then he made a move few players ever make. He transferred across Bedlam to Oklahoma for 2023 and 2024, playing in all 26 games for the Sooners. In 2023 he had 18 tackles and an interception, and in 2024 he added 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Ford signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025, and has spent time on their practice squad. As of October 8, 2026, he is on the Giants' practice squad and was recently elevated for game action, recording his first NFL tackles in 2026.
